A trip to the Lodge Factory Museum in Tennessee to see the World's Largest Cast Iron Skillet.

My mother and aunt took a trip up from Florida to visit us after we first moved to Chattanooga. As a way to find something for everyone to do, we decided to take a drive about 30 minutes west of Chattanooga to South Pittsburg, Tennessee. The road wound into Georgia before curving back into Tennessee and sending us back in time an hour!

Inside the big yellow building was a large factory store where we bought a dutch oven with a basting lid and a griddle from the discount section. At this museum, you both enter and exit through the gift shop!

Mal loved playing with all of the interactive exhibits that demonstrated how the metal was forged and processed through the assembly line. We were even able to create our own recipe book that was emailed to us
!
The attached Big Bad Breakfast restaurant made for a nice meal before we concluded our visit to the area with a stop by the Nickajack dam.
