Sewing and Fabricating Our Costumes for DragonCon 2024!

This may be a little out of order, but in this video we are going over our costume ideas, designs, and fabrication before we went to Dragon Con in Atlanta, Georgia.
Mal insisted that he wanted to be a rocker. We bought him some black fabric and he picked out some patches. He helped Chris with the sewing machine to make a vest and I (Casey) helped him iron on the patches and then hand sewed on his embellishments. We both worked on cutting the foam to make a fun guitar, but we ran out of time and it went to the con unfinished.
I know it may be five years too late, but I always wanted to make fairy wings. I found some fun shimmery silver and sparkly blue materials. The idea kind of evolved into the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio. I even made the headband and cord belt. Although he tried to teach me how to use the sewing machine, I kept getting snags and Chris ultimately sewed it for me while I shaped the wire and hot-glued the wings.
Chris decided to try to make a costume of a book character, so there weren't many pictures to go on. Apparently, the character in the TV series does not match the description from the book all that well. Since it was his first try, he bought some cheap material to sew into a Gleeman's cloak.
