Writing By The Water - Part Two

Writing By The Water - Part Two

Sand point park
Sand Point Park

Here I am by the water, again. What is it about a view of that sparkling blue vastness that brings me such peace? And a sudden urge to write…

There are fewer sailboats anchored in the river than usual; probably because of the cold. 65 degrees, cold? Yes. For Florida, yes. I'm in long sleeves and jeans, missing my signature flip flops, while other park patrons (and the carnies setting up for the fair this weekend) are mixed between heavy coats or tank tops. You can really tell who is visiting from up north. Ah, but at least the sun warms me from the icy breeze blowing in from the water.
Setting up for the fair.
Setting up for the fair.
I've been seeing pictures online of manatees swarming together in the hundreds for warmth, that must be why I don't see any here today; plenty of birds, though… They are singing and gliding all around. Seagulls, crows, and even woodpeckers; it's really now wonder there was a birding festival held here a couple weekends ago.
I can't believe how long it's been since I just walked like I did today. What is normally a five minute drive took me over an hour and a half! The destination, as they say, was well worth the journey.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to tackle the walk up that bridge.
